Anthony Rogers
2006 Best Dressed Man
How He Won
-
- Bio
- Anthony entered our New York competition looking equal parts old Hollywood and Manhattan sophisticate. He wore a brown sport coat, relaxed fiannel pants, a crisp dress shirt, and a blue tie.
-
- Why his clothes fit
- A flattering ensemble may be the gentleman's uniform, but Anthony has actual standard-issue attire; he's a police officer. "The uniform I have has a boxy fit. Fashion doesn't apply. You get spit on it; you get blood on it. But on my days off, I put on something nice. It's a release." And why does Anthony find it so necessary to represent his brothers in blue? "Block cops are notoriously bad dressers."
-
- Courage feels like velvet
- "An acquaintance of mine who works at a department store suggested a velvet blazer instead of corduroy. It steps it up in terms of class. I bought it about two years ago, when they really started to come on strong, fresh out of the gate."
-
- A word of advice to his fellow real men
- "This is my only pair of cuff links. I used to be a transit cop in New York. These are old New York City subway tokens. It's nice when your style says something about where you come from."
-
- Anthony's winning look
- Two-button velvet jacket by Michael Wesetly; cotton shirt by Banana Republic; wool trousers by Boss Black; leather shoes by A. Testoni.
